What we offer

Families in Care provides independent advocacy, support and counselling for birth families involved with child protection services.

We accept referrals from professionals as well as from family members.

Please contact us if you require more information or if you wish to make referral.

Independent Advocacy

 

Families in Care provides independent advocacy service for birth families involved with child protection services.

This includes one-to-one appointments, support over the phone, assisstance during professional meetings and in court.

​Adoption Support



Birth mothers whose children have been adopted can access our small and friendly support group.

 

We can also offer support with writing letters for the Adoption Post Box and help with finding further sources of support.

Counselling

​

Child protection process and care proceedings can be very stressful for all family members. Families in Care provides confidential counselling service to assist during and after this difficult time.

Peer Support Groups

 

Our peer support groups are facilitated by experienced and dedicated members of our team, and offer free, safe and confidential space for birth parents to share experiences and swap advice.

Mindfulness

 

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction sessions for individuals and groups are now being offered for anyone interested in improving their health and wellbeing.

 

Our experienced and qualified mindfulness practitioner offers MBSR to service users and other interested parties.
