Advocacy - links
Family Rights Group is a charity providing advice and support for families whose children are involved with, or require, local authority services because of welfare needs or concerns.
On their website you will find very usefull stuff about parental advocacy in child protection, training information, advoce aheets and news.
Although last year Action for Advocacy announced that they ceased all operational activity you can still find excellent resources on their website. Particularly useful if you want to find out more about advocacy generally, not only in relation to child protection. Check it out!

The link below will take you to the Advocacy - Models and Effectiveness page, but it may be worthy to check out other resources on IRISS website as well.

If you want to find out more about advocacy in mental health, MIND website will come in handy - loads of relavant information.
BILD is the British Institute of Learning Disabilities - good starting point to further your knowledge in the Learning Disability field. Check out link below - really nice and clear information about different types of advocacy.

SEAP provides independent advocacy in health and social care services. On their website you will find clear information about:
-
Independent Mental Health Advocacy
-
Community Mental Health Advocacy
-
Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy
-
Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
-
... and other types of advocacy - check it out.

Of course there are more great websites out there - we are not able to add them all here, but we will do our best to give you good starting points!
