Post Adoption Support Meeting with two people sat on a sofa

Post Adoption Support

We give birth parents and grandparents emotional and practical support during a distressing time. This can include help with life story work, final family time visits and the writing of cards & letters to children who no longer live with their birth family.

Experienced staff can meet with parents and grandparents in private comfortable surroundings to talk about the court's decision and what this means for their family.

What We Can Do For You:

Practical Support

  • Help when preparing to meet with potential adopters

  • Support when older children re establish contact with their birth parents

Understanding the Process

  • Providing emotional support following final court hearings

  • Guidance and explanation about final court orders

Support in Meetings & Communications

  • Contacting children’s services to clarify information about post adoption contact

  • Emotional support at meetings in preparation for children moving to long term care/adoptive placements

Trusted by Families and Professionals

"It is important that people’s rights are not only respected, but that they come in on an equal basis….. We have deliberately funded projects like Families in Care that are independent, to give advice and support to parents."
